I'm having real problems here.

In my relationship window I added the table Customer, then deleted it, then added it. I did this a number of times. Now I have the following:

tbl_Customer
tbl_Customer 1 (Access Added the 1)
tbl_Customer 2
tbl_Customer 3

Whenever I delete the relationships of tbl_Customer 1 thru 3 and then save and exit the relationship window and then return all four of the tbl_Customer appear.

I saved the relationships window with only the first tbl_Customer and then compacted the data base but that did not help. What is going on here and how do I delete tbl_Customer 1 thru 3 for good?

Thanks.

Steve

Steve, If you have queries set up based on your customer tbl, then Access automatically 'adds' those tbls to the relationship window. They just signify additional relationships based on your query. When you're in the relationships window, clicking on "Show Direct" will only show the ones you set up as primary relationships. If you click on "Show ALL', then you get what you're seeing now. This is happening on the show direct view.

Any suggestions on how to delete.

thanks

Steve,

From Micorsoft:
"To view all the relationships defined in the database:

On the Relationships menu, click Show All .

To view the relationships defined for a particular table:
Click the table, and then on the Relationships menu, click Show Direct .

To view only the relationships defined for one table without viewing the relationships defined for other tables:
On the Edit menu click Clear Layout to remove all tables from the Relationships window (this will not delete the tables or the relationships; it just removes them from the Relationships window).

To add the table back, on the Relationships menu, click Show Table , double-click the table, and then click Close .

On the Relationships menu, click Show Direct ."

You can't just remove the table. If you have clicked on the relationship join lines and DELETED the relationship you do not want, then it will not appear again. If it appears again, then YOU HAVE QUERIES developed that are forming relationships with your tables, or if your customer table is related to more than one table, Access will automatically put that in there as Customer1, Customer2, etc., whatever. If you have the relationships set up the way you want(deleting those you don't want), then the 'Access generated' relationships are fine. HTH, Montrose
