Hi there...

I'm very new at this and am having a hard time with the books and internet information that I've been reading.
I need to build a database and I think I have the tables with all of the information I need...But I'm having a hard time putting them all together. and they may not be right either...duplicate info in some of them. I was wondering if someone here could help me with the relationships, or let me know what I'm missing/doing wrong.
The following url shows my current tables not related in any way yet...

Thank you so much for any help you can give me!!

Shannon,

I looked at your tables relatively quickly. It looks like you have a good start, though there are a couple of things that could use some work.

First, get rid of the spaces in the names of all tables and fields. It will make things MUCH easier as time goes on.

Next, it looks like you should break out the e-mail addresses into a separate table, so you can search for them more easily, and so there's not a problem the first time someone has four e-mail addresses instead of three.

I'd recommend you check out Paul Litwin's article Fundamentals of Relational Database Design. I've got a copy of it on my website, since I recommend it so often.

But it does look like you've got a good start.
