I've got a project in different phases. Now I don't really have a start day and a finsh day of each fase. But I know how long each fase takes and I know the amount of days between the beginning of each fase and the beginning of the project(which I don't know either)

SO I've made a milepoint with an acceptable start date for my project and now I want to link every fase on this milepoint in a way that when I later get to know the startdate of my project, I have to change only one date.

For instance:
Fase 1 begins after 30 days and this fase takes 15 days
Fase 2 begins after 60 days and this fase takes 20 days

My only problem is that I want to use a deadline for each fase but I always have to give in a fix date, it seems not possible to use a deadline like
15 days after starting fase 1
or 20 days after starting fase 2

Can someone help me please

I'd create a milestone task at the beginning and end of each phase.

Then I'd link the ending milestone task of Phase1 to the beginning milestone task of Phase 2.


You could also try
1. Create the Project start milestone task.
2. Create a Phase beginning milestone task at the beginning of each phase.
3. Link the Project start milestone task to the Phase beginning milestone task. If you have 5 phases, you'll have 5 links.
4. For each phase, double click on the link (in the Gantt chart area) and, in the popup dialog, set the lag to 15 days (or whatever is appropriate) to schedule the start of the phase.

The first way is better because a delay in phase 1 automatically pushes out the start of phase 2.

In both cases, changing the Project Start milestone date will move the task dates out or back.
