Rel 9 Back up Failure

I am having a problem making back ups on all 3300 rel 9 using my laptop.It displays <Back up failure> as soon as I hit the Start Back up button.
On any other release backing up with the same laptop is always successful.
Cant figure out why?Using Windows XP SP3 with updated Java.Pop up blocker is turned off.
Any ideas welcome.
 
Try clearing your IE Cache.

Im hearing the word IE cache for the first time.Could you please explain.
 
Just Googled IE cache.
It is the Internet Explorer cache.In it I have deleted cookies,browsing history & temporary files to free up space & increase download speed.
While at it I have set the IE to clear history on every exit & have increased the disc space a bit to 1024.

I am yet to test the results on the 3300 rel 9 & will let you know.
Thanks for the tip,in any case I had never cleared my IE since using my laptop.
 
Hve you another machine you can try? Then you will determine if it's the system or the laptop
 
Have just attempted to make a back up on Rel 9.After specifying C:path & pressing <Start Back> it says back up in progress for a while then <Back up fail> comes up then
<unable to transfer file due to back up failure>
Any more ideas welcome.
 
One of my field sites ran into a problem on Rls 9 with McAfee, even called us for help. At our suggestion he disabled his McAfee AV/Firewall and suddenly all was well. I don't recall the specifics but there was one component of McAfee that didn't dance well with the software upgrade tool.

Turn off windows firewall

Add 3300 IP address to trusted sites in security settings

Virus checker can be an issue but not often in my experience.

The 3300 is already on my trusted sites & firewall is off.Still not successful.
Going through the help files for Back up ther is were it states that <identitydb.obj> must be present on every PC that does Back up.It says if not present it should be copied onto the PC.
This is one issue that I do not understand.
What is it with Rel 9 that makes it tricky to back up than the rest of the releases.
Just so you know ,I am able to upload music on Rel 9 with the same laptop without issues.
 
This sounds like an issue I've had before. Actually found the answer on Mitel's own forum. A dealer there said they switched to the Avent Browser. This worked.
Do a Google search for "Download Avent Broswer" and you should be able to get it.

I had a similar problem recently. It transpired that if you select the "backup voicemail" check box and a voicemail port is in use, the backup fails. Not sure what release that was on, but try backing up with no voicemail.
 
Dowloade Avant browser & it has also failed to do the back up.When performing back up voicemail & call records are not ticked.
 
i was told by mitel tech sup. that there wre issues with the IE8. i installed IE7 back on my laptop and it worked.
 
Does anyone know if YA LITE is supported on Windows 7. I have re-installed .net framework 1.1. The app seems to install ok but cannot find the phone and will only run in offline mode. Was working fine on XP.

Downgraded to IE7 still no success with Back up.More ideas welcome.
 
There is a known problem where Voicemail Ports get stuck in the active state and prevent backups. Stat your voicemail ports and see if you have one (or more)

If you do, cycle the port thru Busy / RTS

Then try another backup.

Just finished training recently & dont have much hands on on voice mail,as a matter fact voice mail is never used in this part of Africa so kind of explain further the process of unstickingthe vmail port.
