we are installing a t1 card into a system setup
as follows

exsisting Setup:

slot 1 slot 2 slot 3 slot 4 slot 5
308 partner 308 400 308
messaging procesor
6 port
converted Setup:

slot 1 slot 2 slot 3 Slot 4 Slot
t1 card 308 308 partner 308
processor messaging
6 port

extensions are 10-25
voicemail port are 26-31
extensions 38-45

The t1 card takes up lines 4-19 (16 positions )
logical its 9-24 on the card is what I am told
so we tell the carrier not to send on channels
1-8 but rather 9-24

can we have the telco provider send us B8ZS/ESF

type loop for tunks 4-11 assign line keys and program
to ring multiple phones follow day / night service
line ownership

trunks 11-16 (program as did type)
type DID (expecting 3 digits)
map xxx to x10
map xxx to x11
since no line or pool keys assigned it should ring the intercom button and follow coverage

"so we tell the carrier not to send on channels 1-8 but rather 9-24"
Correct - the T1 card will not see channels 1-8.

"can we have the telco provider send us B8ZS/ESF"
That is the default on the module, and will do you fine.

"type loop for trunks 4-11 assign line keys and program to ring multiple phones follow day / night service line ownership"
Sure, just like any other CO line.

"trunks 11-16 (program as did type)
type DID (expecting 3 digits)"
Oops, problem there. The T1 module will require wink start for DID, and will not allow you to mix trunk types in the module. The DID translation table will allow you to direct as needed.

My suggestion would be to make them all wink start and have all your inbound calls be directed by DID or DNIS digits. Outbounds would be unaffected. Worst case scenario is that you have to send some calls to a calling group to ring several phones, but it seems like the way to go.

if it rings calling groups do they come in on the intercom
buttons ....its possible they might get get 2 calls and not be able to transfer , call other phones since the intercom buttons would be tied up with did or other calls ...??

They would come in on the intercom, but there are two intercom keys per set. Also, you would be advised to use hybrid mode so that pool keys could be used. The 3rd call would not be seen, but few people need to handle 3 calls simultaneously on a key system other than an operator, which would be in key mode anyway.
