Rejoining the domain

I am having user account problems and drive mapping issues on my site server and one of the sys admins suggested I disjoin and rejoin the domain. I think this may solve the issue I am having with the O/S but I am afraid it will break SMS. does anyone know of a safe way to go about this? I was hoping worst case scenario I would just have to reset the site server??

what kind of account problems are you having (what accounts?) whatcha mean drive mappings?

Site resets usually go well...but I would be real careful if it wasnt connection to the domain well before I messed with that.
