Hi,

I was able to install Win2k Server Edition on This Compaq Prolient ML330G2. I configured its RAID to RAID1 (Mirrored disks), which means I made the disks as dynamic disks.

Due to reasons beyond my control, the Administrator password was somehow misplaced. Luckily, this server hasn't been used yet. Therefore I am thinking of deleting the partitions (NTFS formatted) and reinstalling Windows 2000 again.

Will there be any danger or problems with that, especially since the disks have already been switched from basic to dynamic disks?

Please help me?

Thanks in advance.

I believe you are eluding that the drives were "mirrored" through Windows, and not through hardware RAID?

If you want to delete the partitions, and start from scratch, that won't cause any issues. I would suggest that you make sure the MBR is cleared though, otherwise Windows will try to preserve the "existing OS" when you load from scratch.

Also, just as a suggestion, Windows 2000 often defaults to having the Caps Lock key on during setup, and unbeknownst to the installer, the admin password they typed in went in as all caps. Take the password it was supposed to have, and try it in all caps, bet it will get you in. That is, unless you have no clue what it was ever set to, or if you've already rebuilt the drives...
