Hello, can I reinstall SQL Native Client for SQL Server 2005 SP3 64-bit on production, is it dangerous? During SP3 upgrade, I ran 32-bit version first by mistake, and it upgraded client. Then I ran 64-bit upgrade, and it upgraded server. Now, I can't connect to databases with SQL Server authentication from within the box, while outside connections are fine.

You should not run into any issues by installing just the client tools. But if you can err on cautions side ... since its a Prod machine, do it after hours if possible.

You can always connect to that instance on the Prod machine by using another server or laptop that has the appropriate client tools aready installed

Thanks

yes, this sounds like our case, we can connect from everywhere except from within the box itself, thanks a lot
