I'm trying(after uninstalling) to reinstall disk 1 of Office 2000 and getting the invalid key message even though I've confirmed it's correct.I did update MS Installer to version 2.0.Any ideas out there?

Thanks,
Johnny

I'm trying to run it from a network drive, which I've done successfully many times before.I think the problem may be with the installer unless there's some registry hack I can switch the old key info off with.

Thanks,
Johnny

I don't know if this will help, but there is a really useful utility at called keyfinder, which when run will display the CD keys used to install the current versions of Windows and Office.

I often use it before re-installing Office to check that I have the correct one on record.

I'm not sure how it works but if reads it from the registry it may be able to detect if there is still one on your system.
