Creative Suite CS2:
Is there a way of reinstalling the Help Files used by Adobe Help Centre for the CS2 applications without having to uninstall and reinstall everything from scratch again?

I've at last got the Adobe Help Center to start up without crashing (by deleting everything relating to the Opera web browser but all the original help files are also missing.

When I tried to reinstall from my original discs, there doesn't seem to be an option to custom install.

Aha! Thanks for the pointer Eugene.

However, this only refers to the Windows version but I have discovered that if, after a very slow download from the Adobe website, we can still get it to work on a Mac even though the instructions say specifically that on a MAc the whole application itself must be reinstalled!

THIS IS THE FIX:

Works for InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and GoLive

Quit from all Adobe applications.

Navigate to the revant download page, the files to be downloaded are:
Photoshop_9.0_en-us.zip
InDesign_4.0_en-us.zip
Illustrator_12.0_en-us.zip
GoLive_8.0_en-us.zip

After downloading, place the UNZIPPED .zip file into the folder:
.../Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobeHelpData/Packages

Directly open the Adobe Help Center application, and it then takes a bit of time to open up all the packages and makes them available for use from both the Help Center and directly from each application via the Menu.

Bingo :)
