Hi, Tek-Tippers!

My hard drive died and I've reinstalled Pagemaker 7, but I can't read the text like I could before. I have my monitor resolution set to 1024x768, which is where I like it; I have Text set to show "Greek" at less than 5 pixels (so I can see that it *is* text now, at least; and I'm using it in Fit in Window mode so I have two pages at once.

My font is Times New Roman 10pt and I can barely read it. Before my drive crash I could read it fine. Any ideas what other settings I need to change and where to find them?

Thanks!

Michelle

You're saying "I can barely read it" because the displayed text is so small?

Times New Roman 10pt at 1024x768 is fairly small.

What is the scaling of the page when you click "fit in window"? (To find out, click with your secondary mouse button on th paste board, and then click "Other View…")

Hi, SlimJohn!

Doing that brings up a box that says 59%.

That could be why. What's it like at 100%, though the spread may not fit on a regular 4:3 screen?

Hi, SlimJohn!

At 100%, it's readable, of course. But I want what I had before, which was a Fit in Window view (both full pages at once) and barely readable type. The type right now comes out as just a bit too small.

I appreciate you trying to help.

I can only suggest you tinker with the display settings.

"Fit in Window" displays at 82% on my screen using 1680×1050 and 10pt TNR is just about readable.
