Reinstall of a HP Pavilion dv2000

Hello!

Can anyone give me some advice on reformatting the drive of a HP Pavilion dv2000 with Vista Home on it, and installing XPSP2? I just started off an XP install there but setup couldn't find any hard drives.

I did a quick google and found bits and pieces here and there about how much of a 'nightmare' it is to reformat these laptops. Does anyone have suggestions on how to go about it?

Sounds like you need to find the controller drivers and put them on a floppy. Then use F6 to install drivers during XP install.
