I'm getting event errors and someone recommended reinstalling HD drivers on my Western Digital C: drive. (I was experiencing choppy sound at system startup...and sound and video after startup) Just a couple of the errors: mrtRate failed to start...Control error ..Device\harddisk1\D.

Is it possible to reinstall drivers on my C: drive? And if so, could someone explain how/point me in the right direction.
Thanks

FYI: Windows XP SP2, Dell Dimension 4550, 800Meg, 120 gig disk, no viruses, diagnostics does not find any errors/problems with the drive, problem just started

there are no hd-drivers, u can only reinstall the drivers for ur ide controller.
device-manager=>ide/ata controller=>properties=>drivers
