We have had a Deskjet 1220C (multi-function) running for some months now without a problem on a W2K PC. We tried to install a digital camera recently and although that worked, and continues to do so, the printer does not. We have tried uninstalling it etc. but no luck.
The main problem is that with the printer disconnected, we can try to reinstall the drivers via the original CD, and everything goes fine until the last part of the install procedure when the program stalls and dispite waiting for an hour, we have to close it down.
We have tried every combination of uninstall, close down, different USB socket etc. but the camera works fine in all sockets, but we cannot get the printer software to install, nor to install it via the Add New Printer wizard.
As I am writing this, we have finally got the printer to install and work, but now the camera, although the USB connection icon appears in the system tray, cannot be accessed and it seems like the two devices are trying to share the same USB channel, if that is the right word.
How might we try to sort this out?
Thanks.
