Hello, is there a simple way to install any RPMs that weren't installed during setup? Rather then going one by one, can we so some sort of "install" that will install those missing RPMs? The problem is, I don't know exactly which ones are missing and some graphics utilities aren't working properly due to these missing modules. Otherwise I will have to go down the RPM list one by one with a machine that is working.

Most package managers will install dependencies by default.

Thus if you install gimp or GD or imagemagik or... the dependencies will be dragged along. Just install the major apps and you should be covered.

ok thank you. Could I simply insert the install CD and run an installation? Or...

Typically all maintenance of packages/system is based upon an Internet-connected basis. Then you use a tool like command-line applications "up2date" or "yum" on Redhat-based distributions.

For instance, if you had "yum" as your package manager and wanted to install the 'gimp' application for the first time, you'd type

"yum install gimp"

This would, by default, also find the dependencies needed to complete installation of gimp.

These are fundamental skills needed to maintain your machine. I suggest you read up...

yes we are all rhel which uses up2date. I wasn't sure without testing if up2date will actually install packages that weren't installed at setup time. ok I Will work on that. thanks!!
