I am trying to reindex GM, but I get an insuffecient disk space error on the ContHist table. The server has 16 gigs of free space, I don't understand why it's doing this. It was trying to copy information for ContHist to XontHist dbf file. Any ideas?

Jason,

How big is the conthist.dbf+conthist.mdx+conthist.dbt if those combined are over 16 gig or approaching it then thats the problem.

If not then look for xonthist.dbt how big is it?

Regards,

Richard.

The ContHist files are only 20MB. the XontHist.DBT is 1KB

Jason,

Looks like the dbt has totalled its self.

You can try running it through dbtcheck (on our website) or dsalvage. But the quickest way is probably to restore a backup.

Richard.

is you have more than 19GB free space on the hard drive on which GoldMine is installed and/or the harddrive on which the system you're working from defines as the location for the environment variable TEMP (and TMP) then this is your problem. there's a bug in GoldMine/the windows API that prevents it from being able to properly discern the amount of free space available when it's over 19GB (or any multiple of 4GB, also... under OR over 19GB)

The solution is to get your free space DOWN to an appropriate level to compansate for this bug... :(
