I have a netware 5.1 system with BJ Murrary Software and the user thinks the way to fix problems is to turn off the server by the powe switch (no "down " command ) so the database is corrupted . I do not know which dos command to use to reindex or repair the database .
Thanks for any and all help.

Are you sure the database is corrupted? Are you getting Btrieve errors? If so, which ones?
I know for a while, Pervasive would pull the plug on a server as a demo showing that even that wouldn't corrupt the database.
If the database really is corrupt, you can use BUTIL (DOS, Win32, or NLM versions). To rebuild a file, you would issue a BUTIL -CLONE and then a BUTIL -COPY (type those at the command prompt to get the full syntax and you'll need to "Load" them on NetWare).
