Reimporting subreport problem

I'm using Crystal Reports 10.
I have a Container report which has parameters. It has a subreport which is basically the same report as the Container report except different parameter values are selected. When I added the subreport is was named differently to the container report.

The reports are both created from business views and use both business view parameters and report parameters. I have linked 7 of the 8 report parameters in the subreport to the Container report. I can run these reports without any problem.

However, if I re-import the sub-report and run it, only data in the container report is returned. The subreport just displays the headers.

If I don't link the parameters in the subreport to the container report then there is no problem re-importing the subreport and re-runniing it.

Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening and if there is a work around.

I eventually need to add 20 more identical subreports to the container report so would like to be able to link the majority of the parameters in the sub-reports to the container report parameters.

Hope this makes sense and that someone can help out.

Thanks.

I'm not certain, but link main report parameters to FIELDS in the subreport as opposed to duplicating parameters in the subreport, perhaps that will help.

Thanks for your speedy response.
I'll have to amend my report and give it a try.
Does anyone have a simpler solution?
