This is one for the RCDD guys

Is anyone aware of any regulations (BICSI?) regarding the makeup of data risers? i.e. build materials, fire protection proximity to other services (M&E) and such. A link would be appreciated.

Any help gratefully received

In most places the building codes will be the most important and they are locally created and enforced.

The answer has always been 42

BICSI sets standards , not regulations

for regulations look to the NEC and local codes (usally based on NEC )

that said I would certainly take a look at what BICSI suggestions are .

Sorry realise BICSI set standards, anyone know what the BICSI suggested standard is??

ISO/IEC 11801 eD. 2.0 Cabling

ISO/IEC 24704 Cabling for WAPs

ANSI/TIA/EIA-568B.1

TIA-569-B For Wireless

and TIA TSB-162 for cabling between LAN equipment and WAPS, including pathways and spaces to support the cabling and wireless APs.

These maybe the regulations you are looking to access.

Good Luck
