Is there a way to sort the registry based on when the entry was made?

My registry backup is not current and a software install made changes to my registry that were not removed when uninstalled. I have searched my registry but cannot find what is causing my problem.

Thanks

I dont know the answer to the dates for registry items, however 2 other thoughts for trying to get something out.

Is it possible to look at the software maker's website for manual uninstall instructions for your application?
As examples, McAfee and Symantec (for antivirus),and Adobe (at least for Acrobat) have instruction for manual removal of their products which include the registry edits as well as locations of files to remove.

Another option I've tried from time to time (on win98) is using jv16 powertools finder option to hunt for entries using the company name, product name, and/or other items I can think of relevant to the particular software I'm trying to remove.

One other comment for you.
Here is a link for some general comments about uninstalling software applications:
I see reference to a registry monitoring program.
I've never used it, dont know how it works, but if it works and if a reinstall of the application in question would at least check the registry for the stuff you're trying to find, you could try
backing up registry now-so you can at least get back to current situation.
downloading, running the regspy program
and then reinstalling problem application
then looking at regspy logs/reports for info,
do automated uninstall of program
and then do registry editing of anything left based on regspy reports.

Do you know for a fact that your prob is a software uninstall? And exactly 'how' did you 'search' your reg?

How long ago did you install software? (you may be able to use scanreg to restore a recent registry backup from before the installation - which obviously wouldn't have the unwanted entries).
