I am trying to have an activation key to unlock a program. I am debating the placement of these strings for the program to check when it boots. So here is the first question, I can bury them in the registry or bury them in the file structure in an ini file, which is better?

The next question is that the way i have it set up, all you have to do is find the value in the reg or the file, and then copy the values and the program works, which defete the purpose. Any ideas...

have a look at thread222-530751 especially the bit about burying data in a image file (steganography-my new favourite word LOL)

good luck!
