i do have a problem with windows 98, the problem is a registry error.<br>
Everytime i reinstall windows it is going fine but when it goes into it's first boot, i get a crash.<br>
Registry failure, please set back your backed up registry what could be the problem ??<br>

How are you reinstalling Windows?<br>
If you are running setup from the options&gt;&gt;cabs directory that aint going to be enough.<br>

2 things to do<br>
<br>
1 Do a full Fdisk and reinstall<br>
<br>
2 Take you system back to an earlier registry<br>
Search for user and system .BAK files or .DAO files and check the dates.<br>
Rename them as .DAT and restart<br>

From my experience with this type of error, I have found RAM to be the culprit.<br>Remove and re-seat the RAM and if at all possible depending on your motherboard configuration, move the RAM to another location. Might also be that you have a bad stick or RAM.
