registry error - i think

i cant install a new scanner because my add new hardware freezes when i'm trying to install the drivers.

in checking the registry for 'appwiz' i found the following entry---"rundll32.exe appwiz.cpl,NewLinkHere %1"

is this correct? if not can anyone help with the correct entry?
