Upon booting up my win 98 equiped computer, it enters a registry error detection page and proceeds to scan and correct the problem. The screen says that windows has corrected the registry error and you must restart windows to continue. Upon restarting the whole process repeats.

I tried to change the boot sequence in dos in order to reinstall windows, but it didn't work. I'm not too concearned about loosing the information on the computer if it is nessesary to fix the problem but I would preffer not too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Try doing a manual fix of the registry, i have run across similar situation where win98 seems to keep putting back a corrupted registry. reboot the system to dos and at the c prompt type "scanreg /restore" without the quotes and choose a couple days back 98 usually keeps 4 backups of the registry on hand
