I was going to use a registry tweak that required making a change to a key under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\

When I looked at my registry I found

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet001\
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet002\

Does anybody know why there are two? What are the differences?

The way I understand it, the registry subkey CurrentControlSet001 is always the ControlSet used as the default for boot unless LastKnownGood is chosen, in which case ControlSet002 is used.

Thanks, James
