IS-IT--Management
Hello,
I am attempting to replicate in part the functionality of the Emergency Repair Diskette (
ERD: Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Backup >>Emergency Repair Disk).
My thoughts are as follows:
-Noticed (mostly) which files are copied during the ERD
process such as ntuser.dat from my profile, system,
software, and other files from c:\winnt\system32\config to c:\winnt\repair\regback
-Seems I should be able to copy those files via login script
to a subdirectory of \regback, with the date appended to
the subdirectory name
-The benefit would be to have relatively current backups
of the user's registries in the event of boot failures
requiring a registry restore or, as has more often than
not been the case, reimaging.
I am asking for feedback on the idea. It seems like a good idea, but as is often the case, many folks here have better ones.
Thanks,
