registration key

I've worked with registration keys in C++ very little, and i don't know how to make a simple one, because i've never bothered to figure out how they work. now i need to know how to make a registration key, and I'm in the dark? does anyone have any code? or at least tips?

wrong resistration. Let me re-phrase: activation key. i've made simple activation key utilities, but they were too simple, and i've worked with very complex activation key utils, but i dont know how to make a half-way decent one. any other ideas? Cyprus
