Registering Access database as an ODBC data source

Hi, if I register my Access database as an ODBC data source on my Windows'98SE PC will it still need to be registered again if the database is opened on another PC? or once it is registered on one platform, it no longer needs to be registered? I hope I'm making some sense here... please any clarification on this issue would most helpful.
