I need to register an 3rd party .ocx from my setup deployment project in order to deploy my application on the target PC.

I am struggling with this setup project, I have added files, one of them the required .ocs, but I am told that I need to register this .ocx within the setup project.

Help!

Just want to deploy a Visuall C++ MFC application with an .ocx.

Well you got nothing so far. I’ve only touched a little setup work here and there so I don’t know how much help I can be but I’ll try.

Are you doing a VC6 project type setup or a Windows Installer or what? What tools are you using?

I am using Visual Studio .Net (C++) for development and deployment. Now I have just bought a 3rd party ActiveX (1 Developer Licence). I would like to deploy my application and have this .ocx file registered on the target PC.

Also I dont care how big the installation is, will burn onto CD.

I added a Setup project, following the help (I get a bit lost in it). The setup project detects some .dlls I require but not the .ocx file. However I have added the .ocx file. But I need to register it on the target PC manually, also no short-cut on target PC's desktop, again dont know how to do that; i.e. request it in the setup project.

Also would like to be able to debug on the target (if possible), as have Visual Studio .Net on that PC also, but not the licence for the ActiveX control.

I have now managed to install my application on the target PC, but I am geting an Assertion Exception, hence the need to debug on the target PC. I am not happy with my setup project, basically dont know how it works.

Also I hear the need to install the .Net framework on the target PC also, but again where are the instructions/notes on how to do that.

Help!
