I have an install Image (Ghost) that ws created for us to use on our Standard PC's to speed installation. Was created at the Home Office in Switzerland. The English image that I was given defaults to English (UK) not US!! I know that you can go into the Regional settings and change it to US and that the Left Alt + Shift Keys toggle between the Regions. I have deleted the UK setting from the Lanuage\Details page in the Regional Settings, but the machine still defaults to UK, which is a pain when you are logging in if the PW has characters such as @ or if you need \.... There must be a registry key that is holding this UK setting that I can edit... Anyone know where it is???

Have you set all 3 entries in regional settings (2 under regional options tab and one under advanced) to US and applied it to current account and default user setting? And removed the UK entry from the languages tab, details button?

I find this quite ironic, as I live in the UK, and find it totally annoying that US English is so hard to get rid of when installing XP!

Yes I have removed all references to teh UK Keyboard and still have trouble logging on after a reboot. There has to be something in the registry.

That is ironic... we are truly two peoples separated by a common lanuage!! :)

At logon, the the "current user" is the one define as ".default" under HKey_Users.

I think you need to look in HKey_user\.default\Control Panel\International\ ...
