Can anyone suggest why RegDeleteKey won't work in Windows NT yet it works fine in 95 / 98 ?

- Andy.

Are you opening the key with delete access (KEY_ALL_ACCESS) ?

Chip H.

MSDN indicates that you can't delete an open key, so opening it for all access before deleting it shouldn't work anyway.

I think I might have found something, apparently in 95 / 98 when you delete a key it deletes all subkeys, but in NT you have to do it recursively for each branch, so that may explain why it doesn't work.

Thanks anyway,

- Andy.
