hi guys

i need to know id ecmap tool can ignore the entire segment if the data is empty
ex
DTP*D8*Date
if date is empty then don generate DTP
else
Generate
can it handle this automaticalyy?
pls do lemme know

It can handle optional segments. If "date" in your application (flat-file) is empty then it will not create the segment. NOTE: You must choose the qualifier from the full-code list within the element. If you hard code the qualifier then it will map the segment with the qualifier but with an empty date element. Another way to do it is to apply a condition to the qualifier based on if the date field is empty or has data.
