Hi All,

I have one doubt, when ever a log shift occurs a check point occurs and it writes a sequence number to the control file and corresponding to the header of the data file. But i have not read anywhere that it also writes the sequence number to the log file.

According to me it should write to the logfile. Please let me know if it writes to the logfile or not.

Thanks in Advance,

Sadat

Yes, Sadat, Oracle writes checkpoint information to the headers of all database files: Control files, Database Data files, and On-line redo files.
