Hi,
So far in our organisation we were using MQSeries version 5.1. We recently upgraded to v5.3 and when we define a sender channel, we need to poulate one field called "Local Communication Address". Can anyone eloborate on this field as to why we use it & whats its significance?
We have currently kept it 'blank' which is not affecting our day to day process. But I am not sure whether it will be a problem in future or something we are overlooking right now.
Any kind of help will be appreciated!
Thanks
Shailesh

If this is a sender channel in MQ 5.3, you can use this to specify the "from" IP address used for
outgoing connections.

This is relevant if you have a connection that goes through a firewall
(e.g. to a third party) coming from a multi-homed host.

We have queue managers running under Veritas Cluster Server, with a moving service address plus a
host-specific IP address. Before MQ 5.3, we had to authorize 3 outgoing IP addresses; with MQ 5.3,
we can limit to just one.

Feel free to leave this value blank in other cases.

GFC.
