Regarding date/time field not being displayed

To follow up on my earlier mail, is there anyway that I can automate this easily and quickly?

Since the date/time field are displayed fine in crystal and when exported to PDF, this looks like an issue with Excel.
When I export a report created in 9.0 to Excel, the date/time field in Excel has a generic format, eventhough the format in crystal is of format "March 1, 1999 1:23 pm".

When I manually change the format in the exported Excel sheet, it is displayed fine.

Can I automate this in anyway, such that when the report is exported to Excel, the field width for the datetime field should automatically expand to accomade the larger value?

Right now the width for all field values in the report is the same.

As for as I can tell looking at Excel help file, The defaut format for the dates in excel is based on the system date and format. This can be changed or accessed in regional setting of control panel.
