Hello Friends,

I'm new to Unix. I work on Linux 7.1. Recently i loaded it from one of my friends CD. Now i don't have that CD. Now i want to create a bootable disk from the alredy installed version. Can anyone tell me how i can do this?

Thankx in advance. Expecting ur replies.

Ok, first of all, lets clear something up...

there is no such thing as 7.1 Linux

I believe you are talking about RedHat 7.1 which is a GNU/Linux distribution with Linux Kernel 2.4.2 (by default<G>)

Now for your question... how to make a boot floppy in RedHat (I assume)... (this should work on most linux distributions also...)

as root :
mkbootdisk

this will do it, and if you want to know more about the command, type:
man mkbootdisk

The tool is pretty self-explanitory :)
