Hello all
Could some one advise me on the best possible steps to take in the following scenario??
Server : solaris 8 Veritas NB 4.5
Client: win server 2003 veritas NB 4.5
I created a test file and wanted to check if the backups and restores could be performed properly. I noticed that when I opened the veritas netbackup on one of the clients and clicked "select for restore", I recieved a warning saying
"Server (v440) doews not contain backups for the client (cftp) using specific policy type (MS-Windows-NT) as requested by client (cft)"
I first checked the logs. Since only one folder of size 3.8 Gb was being backed up from this machine, it was easy to veruify that the backups had taken place. The logs showed that 10075 files had been backed up occupying a space of 3.540531 GB
Next I went to the policy settings and saw that the client had been labelled with the hardware and software configuration as WinXP instead of WinNT. I changed that to Win NT.
I still recieve the same warning. Is there any way possible to do restores from the backups taken previously??
also , do I have to take any more steps to avoid this problem
thanks
