I generated a ~.qry file that taps into a database.
I have a report based off of that ~.qry file.
I've been scheduling the report every morning.
First, I open the ~.qry file with SQL designer and then press the refresh button followed by the save button.
I then open my report file and press the refresh button and the save button.

It seems as if I can't automate this every morning.
When I try to schedule the ~.qry file, it does not refresh the data that is why my report file does not schedule with the most current ~.qry data.

Is there a solution?

First, you don't have to schedule the query in order to get the scheduled report based on the data.
One thing with queries: make sure you save them without data. It's a bit strange: even just refreshing it in the query designer saves data. Uncheck that option under File and then just save the qry file.

Watch, when you open the report in the designer and refresh it it will grab the latest data from the db. To be save, go to Database | verify db.
