Here's my question.. Is there any way to refresh the layout of a Crystal Report after it has been imported into Visual Basic? I'm running Crystal Reports 8.5 Developer and VB 6.0 Professional. If I add a new file to my VB project by using Add-->CR 8.5 Report, everything is fine. Now if I have to change something in the report, I have to go into CR, change it, resave it, and then go back into VB and re-add the report. Then delete the old report and rename the newly added report. I just started using CR so I'm really hoping that I'm overlooking something really obvious. It just seems as if there has to be some easy way to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Doug

You never have to leave the VB IDE if you do not want to. You can edit/design the report in the VB IDE. Just double-click on the .DSR file in the VB Project window.

Yeah, I realize that, but there aren't as many options in the VB IDE than in the crystal reports app. Besides, if I wanted to use the report in another app, VB doesn't resave the Crystal File, so I'd have to make the changes to it anyway...

What options are not available within VB? If you right click in the design area you should get essentially the same menu options as the CR design environment. Also, you can save the DSR as an RPT. But there is nothing wrong with making report changes in CRW32. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
