Refresh Problem Not the usual 1

This is a WinXP PRO problem. When I rename a file and hit enter. The name stays the same. It appears the file name was not changed, however, it simply does not refresh automatically. I have to manually do a refresh then the change is visible. Any ideas???? TIA

Rather than pressing Enter, what happens if you just click a blank area of the window after renaming the file. Does that work?

Are you fully updated with Windows?
