Hi All,

I am facing this typical problem.

I have a site designed, hosted bt my client at his server.

I am not sure whether it is a IIS server or Apache Server, but I presume it wouldnt make a difference in my query.

I have a swf on my homepage.

When I upload a changed swf, it still shows me the old on my site. It shows he date , size of the newer swf when I list it, proving that the new swf has been uploaded.

I tried a lot of things, while uploading, to make sure, it uploads the newer swf and not anything from the cache.
I use the following steps, for uploading :

1) Create a new folder on the host - swfnew.
2) rename the current ( local ) swf file homepage.swf to newhomepage.swf.
3) Upload newhomepage.swf to swfnew.
4) remove old swf folder and homepage.swf in that folder.
5) rename directory swfnew to swf
6) rename file newhomepage.swf to homepage.swf

I know I can directly overwrite the homepage.swf with the newer homepage.swf, but due to this recurring problem, I take the above steps for surety.

In spite of this the site would show the older swf while viewing.
Please also note that, I clear all my cache, all offine content, temprory files, cookies and even history, before reviewing the site.

I've also tried all the options of viewing new pages, in Internet Explorer settings.

I've also tried clearing up the cache on the proxy server.

Still no help.

The wonderful part is ( which has saved me so far), that my client is able to view the updated swf.

My network administrator is also not able to figure out the reason for this.

I'll be really grateful, if somebody can really help me wih this.

I'm using Flash 8.0, CuteFTP 4.0 and IE 6.

I should also mention here the following problem I face while uploading swf.

When I upload an swf via CuteFTP, it shows "send successful", but it doesnt clear the entry from queue, and after waiting for it to clear the queue, it shows me a timeout error.
But when I reconnect, it shows, that the file has been uploaded succesfully.

The size if the swf is almost 2 MB.

Regards
Ams
