Refresh in code or macro

I have a form that requires a subform to be refreshed when record selection is changed. It works fine if you place the cursor in the subform to be refreshed and than press the "refresh all" button in the ribbon. However, neither code nor macro for "refresh" will cause the form to refresh.

Any Ideas?
