Hi all,

i know this has been asked before but on the thread i found no-one gave an answer!

My scenario is this;
i have a database with numerous lookup tables, i provide a way to input to a specific table via a form on my coldfusion page. A few selects on my page provide the user with options from my lookup tables.

What i want is to allow the user to add to these lookups via popup windows from the main form, then refresh JUST the select affected to give the user the value they have just added - BUT i dont want to refresh the whole form in case teh user has started filling fields in.

has anyone any ideas on how i can do this?

Thanks

Nicola

you using CF8? that's all built in with the new ajax layer in CF8. If you're paying for hosting, and aren't on CF8 - consider it. If CF8 is not an option, look into jquery javascript library and / or CFAJAX project over at riaforge.com

Hiya,

Thanks for responding, will take a look at the riaforge site as i think we are using coldfusion MX7 and i dont think there are any plans to upgrade for teh time being... will post back.
