Refresh Excel Data Links before reading

I will be building a Crystal Report (2008) which will read an Excel file which will contain linked to a second Excel file. When opening an Excel file of this type, one must initiate a refresh of the linked data.

Is there way to make the refresh happening when using a 3rd party tool to Export and Email a Crystal Report?
