Hi there. My situation is this. I have a movie within a HTML browser environment... say IE6. Within the movie is a link to dynamic text from a server based .txt file.

I also have a means for my client to access the text file online in order to update the text and so on.

My problem (apart from the fact that the client is as dumb as a stump) is that he wants to be able to update the text on screen one then go to the screen with the movie and instantly see the change in the browser.

I've explained that IE caches the text file in temp internet folders and that the text is good. It will refresh and be up to date on next session for him - sooner for customers logging in. No joy though... to him its just broken !

Is there a way to commanf the movie to recheck the text and display on every refresh regardless of temp files ? You'll be doing me a big fvour if you have any solutions.

Thanks all

If you are using a loadVars() or loadVariables() action to load the txt variables you should only have to hit Refresh in the browser for the new values to be displayed. There should be no need to dump temp files in this scenario.

It seems like you may be doing something else though. If so just provide some more detail on the particulars.

Hope it helps.

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!
