I have a database in Access 2000 that I am working with. Data within one of the table is located in a seperate application, that is exported into Excel so I can get it into my database. This seperate application is a very fluid application, and is ever changing. I need to update the data in my database.

Changes that may occur include new projects added, budgets changed, work order status changed, etc... Is there a way to update the data in my table based on several of these parameters? Also there is talk that we will want to be refreshing this data often(every month?), so a more permament solution to automate this, or make it much easier to update our tables is something that I'd like to think about. Could this be incorporated into the solution?

Thanks!

Hi

First question. What form is the source data actually in?, why export it to Excel, then to Access, Access can link to Excel Spreadsheets, text files etc, why not remove the Excel step

Second question. I assume from your description that changes to the data are under the control of the 'other' application, does it have any mechanism to periodically export the required data ?
