I am drawing a blank, but wanted to make sure of something. I have two hard drives in my computer. If I reformat the primary hard drive, it should not affect the secondary hard drive? Are there any precautions I need to take to ensure the data on the secondary drive is not damaged?

Thanks

Presuming primary drive has o/s - so you'll have to reformat (repartition?) it outside the o/s (eg, booting from a 98 boot floppy), the obvious thing to do is disconnect the second drive while you do this (so you can't accidentally format the wrong one).

If you're just reinstalling an o/s on the drive, and its 2k or XP, their install has partitioning tools - so you don't need to reformat it ahead of time.
