Good day all,
I have a windows 2003 server with 211 MB free space.
The physical drive has 3 more GB of space that I can use.
I was planning to do a full system backup, reformat the hard drive with the extra 3 GB and then re-install windows and restore the system. Is this a good idea?
I need this server down and back up again within the same day.
Do I have any other options to do this that quickly?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi!
Did you consider the option to create a Ghost image of the server and then put it back? You’ll have the option to choose the size of the partition when you put back the image and then you will choose to use all the available space.
I don’t know how much data you have on the server but if you are going to format it anyway ghosting might turn out a very suitable option.

Thanks guys for the posts.
I have thought of these options, but I do not own the software, and I work for a smaller company that is not going to approve the purchase for a one time use.

You are more decent than most of us ill guess.....
