Hello there! I am using crystal reports xi on a oracle 10g db.

Hello there! I am using crystal reports xi on a oracle 10g db.

i have all of the information i need in a crosstab. however, people would like to see the groups listed above the data with no totals associated with it, and then again at the bottom with the totals. All I have right now from my crosstab is a tree like structure, and I cannot figure out how to get headings on top.

What I have:
Line Total Date1 Date2
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 2 Subtotals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 2 Subtotals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 1 Subtotals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##

Crosstab Totals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##

What I need:
Line Total Date1 Date2
Group 1 Heading
Group 2 Heading
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 2 Subtotals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 2 Heading
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 3 Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 2 Subtotals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##
Group 1 Subtotals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##

Crosstab Totals Detail1 ### ## ##
Detail2 ### ## ##

How do I get those headings in there?!?

Second Question: Can i reference the subtotals in a crosstab?

In the crosstab expert, go to the customize style expert and uncheck "Indent row labels". Headings will then appear, although they are not laid out exactly as you show.

You might want to check out the article on crosstabs in this Ken Hamady newsletter. I haven't tried this myself, but it sound like it might be relevant to your second question:
