I have two controls, txtOrder and textQty on a sub report titled rptBreakoutBody.

On the main report, I want to sum those text boxes.

What is the proper syntax ?

I've tried sum(rptBreakoutBody.Report!txtOrder) but it doesn't work. Tyrone Lumley

Tyrone,

Try performing the sum in the report footer of the subreport, then reference that control in your main report. I've done this in a form/subform situation; it should work in a report/subreport too.......

Thanks Cosmo, but I think you mis-read my question.

What is the Syntax to reference the control in the subform ? Tyrone Lumley

From Access help:
Code:
Type the identifier for the report that contains the subreport, followed by the name of its subreport control, the . (dot) operator, and the Report property.

=[rptBreakoutBody].[Report]![txtOrder]
